The Sky Blues, backed my around 8,000 supporters, travel to north London on Wednesday night desperate for an upturn in fortunes under new boss Robins, who took to the helm a week ago.

Robins has already pointed to an air of negativity around the struggling, cash-strapped club and identified a lack of confidence among his players as they fell to a fourth successive defeat at the weekend - leaving them winless from their opening eight games in League One following relegation.

But a trip to the Emirates Stadium provides the club with a chance to kick-start fresh life into their campaign.

"It's a big, big game for us," Robins said. "A real good opportunity to play against one of the best sides in Europe.

"We've got to try to use it the best we can. We have to understand the game and how it's going to be.

"There's going to be a full house, a lot of support there and it will be how we react to it. We've got to try and build confidence. It's a tough game to try to build confidence but we've got to try to do it in terms of keeping possession."

He added: "If we can get a result there it will be magnificent. It we could progress into the next round it would be fantastic. But we've got to concentrate on performance first rather than the outcome of the game."

Carlisle - who inflicted defeat in Robins' first game in charge last weekend - are expecting a crowd of well over 11,000 at Brunton Park as they take on Tottenham.

The Cumbrians last made it past the third round way back in 1970 but they represent a tricky obstacle for Spurs and boss Andre Villas-Boas, who has not enjoyed a convincing start to his tenure.

Fellow League One side Doncaster are the remaining Football League outfit in action tonight and they too face top-flight opponents in the form of Norwich.

History is not on Rovers' side having never won at Carrow Road in six attempts, although they can take heart from the Canaries' shaky start to the season and their narrow 2-1 win at home to Scunthorpe in the previous round.

I

think all those names linked to United exits make sense. Kagawa has never really looked like hitting the form he had at Dortmund and Fellaini is radioactive after last season (even though I think he's been unfairly singled out for criticism). Nani and Anderson have had more than their fair share of chances so they are done, and Hernandez deserves better than warming a bench.
