Mark Hughes: Shows his frustration against Reading

QPR are still waiting for a first Premier League win of the season after coming from behind to draw 1-1 at home with fellow strugglers Reading on Sunday.

Though the pressure has been building on Hughes, he retains the support of QPR chairman Tony Fernandes and insists he is the right man for the job.

"Am I still the manager to turn things around here? Yes I am," said Hughes.

"We're not sticking our heads in the sand. We know exactly where we are and our intention is to get out of that.

"This was an opportunity to do that and we didn't take it. But we have one more point than we did before the game. We have to take that as a positive."

QPR only survived in the Premier League on the final day of last season, but Hughes is determined to avoid a prolonged relegation scrap this time around.

He added: "We anticipated before the season started that we would have a really successful campaign.

"The longer this run goes on then that successful season we all anticipated is in danger. And we could end up being in the situation we were in last year.

"Now we don't anticipate that will happen, but it is a possibility and we are all aware it could happen. We have done really well in our performances of late, but we just need a break as things have not gone for us."
