Owen Coyle: Ready and willing to talk Scotland about manager's job

The SFA are searching for a boss following Craig Levein's sacking earlier this month and are hoping to have him in place for the World Cup qualifier against Wales in March.

A host of names have been linked with the post and Coyle is open to an approach from officials at Hampden.

Speaking on Sky Sports Footballers' Football Show, he said: "Any job I've had people have come to me because I've never applied for a job.

"Geoff Brown, the St Johnstone chairman, came to me when I was playing at Airdrie as assistant manager, Burnley approached me and Bolton obviously came for me when I was at Burnley so I've been very fortunate in that respect.

"So if someone wants to speak to me of course I am always open. I've turned down a couple of things in the last few weeks because I didn't think they were the right thing for me at this time.

"But, whatever happens, I know I will be ready for the next challenge when it comes about."
