Ben Davies: Young Wales international signs new deal with Swansea

The 19-year-old has established himself as a regular in the first team this season after being drafted in to replace the injured Neil Taylor in September.

Davies has now made 11 Premier League appearances for the Swans and has also been capped twice by Wales after Chris Coleman selected him for the World Cup qualifiers against Scotland and Croatia.

He told the club's official website: "I'm delighted to have signed a new deal here.

"It shows the faith the club has in me and I've been rewarded for my performances so far.

"It is more security for me, and that will allow me to keep working as hard as possible to continue my development here.

"I have already learned a lot from not only playing, but by working hard in training with the manager, coaching staff and team-mates and taking as much advice as possible from them. It's a great time to be at Swansea City."

e have the personnel. The trick is keeping them fit. Carrick and Blind have missed large chunks of the season, while the defence has been one muddled mess of intermittent stooges, all coming and going at various intervals thus far. We may be just short of title winning quality, but we're half way through. An injury crisis to either of the top two could change things. Optimistic, yes, but not unrealistic.

arish is the man to blame for this shambles. Pulis must be chuckling into his left over turkey sandwich. I pray this doesn't mean the Neil Warnock media machine will kick in now and he'll be back on the telly box.

e almost found a new way to lose, just when I thought it was getting boring Giroud does that. Although Arsenal are deservedly called 'soft' the entire midfield is out injured. Still must admit MU are managing to win despite a similar raft of absentees. Think the Gunners have good players but poorly coached.
