Le Fondre keen to close gap

Reading striker Adam Le Fondre admits they are in danger of getting cut adrift ahead of the visit of Manchester United.

The Royals have secured just nine points from 13 games this season and are four points from safety in the Premier League relegation zone.

Le Fondre's goals have won Brian McDermott's side four of those nine points and he appreciates the scale of the task.

"Obviously we are getting a little bit cut adrift," Le Fondre told Sky Sports News.

"But we take it game by game here. That's what we do, we just look at the next game and we take it from there."

The next game is against Manchester United at the Madejski Stadium on Saturday and Le Fondre is looking forward to the challenge, albeit a daunting one.

"We are massively looking forward to this test against Manchester United," he added.

"The Madejski is a tough place to come for anyone and obviously it's going to be a great game for everyone involved.

"We've got to implement our game plan and be at 100 per cent to cause United a problem or two as they are a quality side.

"And if we really get on our game and we're right at them then I think we've got a chance."
