Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa: Has arrived in England

Newcastle agreed a deal over the weekend for the 23-year-old defender, who was also rumoured to be interesting Arsenal.

Now the French international has arrived in the North-East where the Newcastle hierarchy are hoping to convince him that a move to Tyneside is the right decision for him.

Newcastle are hopeful that Mbiwa, who will also undergo a medical, will finalise his transfer within 48 hours.

Mbiwa is not the only player in talks with Newcastle, as Nancy full-back Massaido Haidara is also in the city to conclude his switch.
