The Spanish striker joined the Magpies from Deportivo La Coruna in September 2008 in a deal believed to be in the region of £6m.

But the 26-year-old failed to establish himself at the club and made only 11 appearances for the first team.

He was loaned to Racing Santander and had two spells back with Deportivo, where he also failed to cement a regular first-team place.

Newcastle finally brought an end to his miserable four-and-a-half year stay, and his deal with Cordoba has been confirmed by the Spanish club.

ow is the time for Allardyce to finally get a chance at a big club please. He is likely to have a number of great offers for his services this summer, but who will he choose? Will it be Liverpool, Real Madrid, Dortmund or Man City?
