Michu: Has netted 16 times in all competitions so far this season

The Spaniard has been a revelation for the Swans since being snapped up from Rayo Vallecano last summer.

He has plundered 16 goals in all competitions, helping Swansea into the top half of the Premier League table and to the Capital One Cup final.

Michu's exploits have drawn admiring glances from afar, sparking inevitable transfer gossip, but the 26-year-old is eager to point out that he remains fully committed to his current employers.

He told The Sun: "All players want to get to the very top, but I'm really happy at Swansea. I'm not thinking about next year or big clubs.

"It's good when your name is mentioned alongside big clubs, but I'm living a dream in Swansea and I'm ready for the QPR game.

"I'm also waiting for the final against Bradford. We have a chance to get into Europe.

"My first year in the UK has been really good. I'm really enjoying living in the UK and I plan to stay here for a long time."

Michu has shone this season under the careful guidance of Michael Laudrup, another who has been linked with a move away from the Liberty Stadium.

Those in the Swans camp are, however, hoping that he will remain at the helm for the foreseeable future.

Michu added: "He will want to go to the top. There are not many people that can go to the very top, players or trainers.

"If he is linked with other clubs, that is good for him.

"I think the gaffer could train Real Madrid, Barcelona or Manchester United. I hope he stays, but I don't know what is going to happen in the summer.

"He is the best manager I have worked with. He gives the players the liberty to play.

"We're eighth in the league and playing in a cup final. This is a club which is growing very fast."
