Munich Mauling Could Happen To Anyone

They're really very good, you see - which is why they're one of the best teams in Europe. Nobody could have expected Arsenal to win so nobody should judge them on this...

Well what can i say?Its not the loss that hurts its the lack of football coming from arsenal that hurts us as the fans.We have not really overcome fabregas's departure n rvp's has left us wounded. But having said that a certain Jack has emerged and has given us great hope for the future and we r just there, just the final push is what's the need of the hour.Hope this Sunday would act as a spring board for the rest of the season that included the BIG BAYERN GAME! With nothing to lose Arsenal can be a very, very dangerous team.

Synergy, the German league mirrors the EPL from 10 years ago. One side with vastly superior income to everyone else (Bayern / Man Utd) and anoher with a well run club that have invested in intelligent scouting and recruitment (Dortmund / Arsenal). The only difference is that rich benefactors cannot come in and buy up the whole club in the same way that Roman and Mansour have done at Chelsea and City. It does seem to be more unpredictable though, especially those who finish in the top 4. But ultimately, Bayern wakl away with most of the league titles.

Bayern's transfer policy is to sign the best 2 or 3 (at least) players of the bundesliga season every summer. They also supplement that with top quality players from other leagues. Most of them end up sitting on the bench for 2 or 3 years and are then sold back to other german teams but at least they aren't playing against them when they hit their career top form. They get away with this because every german is brought up to believe that their dream should be to play for Bayern. The only player who stood up to this theory was that keeper who grew up a schalke fan and would never leave them, Neuer was it? The fact that any other team ever wins the league is a miracle in itself - Juergen Klopp is therefore Jesus I guess. It is great to pay a reasonable amount to watch german football but week in week out it is incredibly boring - fouls are given whenever there is any contact, no passion, limited skill, good organisation. The crowds are loud but they spend all their time singing ridiculously pre-rehearsed songs that are sung to the cheerleaders schedule and bear no resemblance to the action on the pitch - zero spontaneity. The beer takes some getting used to but once familiarity sets in it is definitely the best in the world - mmmm lecker. Bayern Munich and their plastic fans are absolutely hated by every single proper football fan in germany (and i have spoken to every one of them btw). Conclusion: Bayern are by far the most blessed team in a boring uncompetitive league (if you ignore miracles).

Arsenal definitely need a strong centre back, Jagielka or Alderweirveld, midfielder Strootman or Wanyama and striker Benteke. Strengthen these three positions and maybe Wenger can challenge at the top again.%0m would be required though!! I would also sell Sagna if I got a good offer and use the money sign Clyne.

@ crowsy I'm a fan of loads of types of football but I definitely do not like the Stoke, West Ham, Chelsea way of playing.

@crowsy, while Chelsea did well to hang on for as long as they did, Bayern really should have won that game. They even missed a penalty in extra time, remember. It should be instructive that the two most profligate performers on the day, Gomez and Robben, are now second choice. Funnily enough, they would both walk into this Arsenal team.

Can someone explain to me when the German league became the most competitive league in the world?

They have one team which has underperformed the last decade. Please name another German team that has paid anywhere near ¿40mil for a player (Martinez) or ¿20 mil for a goalkeeper (Neuer). Basically imagine the current PL without City & Chelsea and hence only United who could pick and choose the stars from their competitors & you have the an apt description of the German league.

Only difference is their teams are well run and they all make money (being Germans they beat everyone to FFP) and the league forces the teams to sell tickets cheap. So most efficient league, definitely. Most competitive...not my a long shot. Dortmund lose a couple of star players every year & Bayern's income means nobody can compete with them in the transfer market..

@crookster Bayern are that good. Favourites to win the champions league, and for a reason.

Perhaps Arsenal fans can give a bit of credit to the Chelsea team that faced Bayern. For me it was a brilliant CL final made even better by the Bayern fans saying Chelsea deserved their win as they would not lie down, personally I thought Bayern played very well and Chelsea were stubborn. If you only like watching one type of football, ping pong, then you do not appreciate football. For me Bayern are a top Football club with brilliant fans, I actually like a lot of German teams and think it is about time they started to be a force in Europe. I was cheering on Bayern from start to finish and hope they go all the way.

I think we can give Arsenal a warm welcome to the club of mediocre mid-table team. The same title we were given by so many Arsenal fans here.
