The Nigerian international was disciplined by the club after his social networking outbursts following Albion's decision to reject his transfer request.

Odemwingie also turned up at Loftus Road on transfer deadline day without permission, only for his on-off transfer to QPR not to go through.

He was left out of the Baggies squad for the games with Tottenham and Everton and was part of the travelling party to face Liverpool at Anfield 12 days ago.

Odemwingie did not make the final 18 for that game but has been included by head coach Steve Clarke for the Premier League meeting with the Black Cats at The Hawthorns on Saturday.

Clarke indicated on Friday that Odemwingie would not be banned from using Twitter.

He also admitted that some Albion fans will find it hard to forgive Odemwingie after his verbal outbursts but called for them to support the team as whole during matches.

Clarke will resist banning Odemwingie from Twitter despite the derogatory comments the striker aimed at the club ahead of his failed move to QPR last month.

The manager said: "We try and treat all our players like adults.

"I don't think you can sit them down and say you can't do this or that.

"It has been known for some clubs to do it, but you would probably need to put something in the contract to say a player couldn't use it.

"It is difficult to stop people Tweeting, although I don't do Twitter.

"Ninety nine per cent of it is used very well. It is every now and then you get one line which maybe causes a stir."

Clarke stressed that he has been happy with Odemwingie's attitude in training since returning to the squad.

He said: "Peter has been good, there have been no problems.

"They are not a group of players who would tolerate people not working properly in training. I'm not a coach who would tolerate that either.

"We demand high standards and Peter's application and attitude has been as good as it was before January."
