Laudrup staying with Swansea

Michael Laudrup admits he is flattered by speculation linking him with a Real Madrid move but reiterated his intention to stay at Swansea next season after their Capital One Cup success.

I think people need to steady themselves a bit. He wins the League Cup and his next step is Real Madrid? Riiiight....... Ha ha!

He's adored at Madrid. If the offer came, I can't imagine he would turn it down, especially as I don't think he's completed 2 seasons at a club as boss. Unless he is super confident of his ability to build on Swansea's success and further increase his stock. After all, Madrid do historically tend to change managers every couple of seasons at least, so there's always next time!!

Got to say, this is surely the greatest indication of how far Swansea have come. We've all heard the "almost doomed to leave the football league, now they've won the league cup" story, but "Swansea manager would rather stay than replace Jose Mourinho as Real Madrid manager" would be the most unbelievable headline to send back in time.

If Madrid come calling no way he'd stay - and he'd be a fool not to go... and Michu will go with him. One day we will say 'remember that year that Swansea won the League Cup' - the next Portsmouth... (without the liquidation hopefully!)

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.
