SUAREZ HAPPY AT LIVERPOOL...
Here's Brendan Rodgers on the prospect of Luis Suarez staying at Liverpool, even if they don't qualify for European football of any flavour this season.

Asked if he would stay, Rodgers said: "At this stage I believe so, yes."

"There is no getting away from it, Luis has been brilliant this year but I haven't seen anything different that would make me feel he wouldn't be here.

"I had a great conversation with his agent a couple of weeks ago. He came in and rolled it out that Luis was so happy here and was keen over the next couple of years for the club to progress.

We suggest you turn away now if Brendan's middle-management speech makes you feel poorly. But if you find it funny, read on...

"I've made [Suárez] sort of my architect within the group. He and I communicate a lot so I get a feeling. It is not like I don't talk to him. Is he deserving of playing at that Champions League level? Of course he is but I would be confident enough that he will be here because he is enjoying his football.

"This is a club that he loves. He is enjoying working this way. If we can keep supporting him and getting the team moving forward then he seems happy and content. Hopefully we continue to keep a great player like that."

LIVERPOOL & CITY IN FOR SANCHEZ
Interesting line in The Daily Mirror, who report that Alexis Sanchez will be a man in demand this summer.

The Chilean winger is apparently surplus to requirements at Barcelona, and quite a queue is forming for his services.

Juventus are thought to be keen, while The Mirror claims that Manchester City are weighing up a move, while Liverpool are also interested.

BALE TO REPLACE RONALDO?
A combination of the two transfer sagas guaranteed to have you thoroughly bored this summer now, from The Daily Mail.

The paper reports that if Real Madrid sell Cristiano Ronaldo to Manchester United or whoever, then they want Gareth Bale to replace him.

They have apparently 'stepped up' their interest in the Welshman, should Ronaldo not sign a new contract in the summer.

The paper goes on to say: 'Tottenham, meanwhile, are considering inviting Bale to the negotiating table do discuss improved terms as they seek to persuade him to stay at White Hart Lane for at least another season.

'The Wales star has signed contract extensions in each of the last two summers as Spurs have sought to protect his value in the transfer market and the London club may yet do so again this summer.

'The player himself - who scored one of the goals of the season as Tottenham beat West Ham on Monday night - is waiting to see if Spurs qualify for the Champions League before making a decision on his future.'

KAKA OFF TO AMERICA?
It seems Kaka might be off to big old America, if you believe his brother Digao.

When asked about Kaka's future, Digao told Goal.com: "It's hard to say. Football changes very rapidly. It is a dream that he has, to come and play in the USA, and hopefully it will come true soon.

"I think he's been very curious about football in the United States and New York and about my experience living here.

"I've been relaying good things to him. He's expressed his interest in one day playing in the United States."

AND THE REST...
Fulham defender Brede Hangeland, 31, is set to seal his future at the club within the next two weeks...Blackburn are close to signing former Rangers and Scotland midfielder Kevin Thomson after he was released by Championship rivals Middlesbrough...West Brom have opened contract talks with striker Shane Long and defender Gareth McAuley...Tottenham are chasing £17m-rated Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala, 22, with AC Milan also interested...Tottenham and Manchester United are both keen on 21-year-old Porto winger James Rodriguez...Arsenal have joined Spurs and Juventus in monitoring 22-year-old Sochaux right-back Sebastien Corchia, with the Gunners also watching Feyenoord right back Daryl Janmaat, 23, with Bacary Sagna expected to leave in the summer.

Whoever buys Sanchez will need a bigger fridge. And their head examined.
