Young was a late substitute on Tuesday and could not help rescue United's Champions League dream.
No-one at Old Trafford will ever be convinced referee Cuneyt Cakir got it right when he opted to show Nani a red card for his high tackle on Alvaro Arbeloa.
But there is an acceptance nothing can be done about it now.
And with a potential league and cup double still to play for, Young feels United will benefit from retaining a clear mind.
"Of course we were disappointed in midweek but the club has bounced back many times and that is what we will be looking to do on Sunday," said Young.
"There is no point dwelling on it. You have to move on fairly quickly.
"When something like that happens you reflect on it the next day and there are times when it is talked about.
"But there are two more trophies to play for and if we maintain the form we have shown through the season so far, there is no reason why we can't win them."
Sir Alex Ferguson has already spent plenty of time this season stressing the importance of the FA Cup to United.
However, whilst the club has a rich history in the competition, lifting the trophy a record 11 times, if Ferguson sticks to his word and rests Ryan Giggs following his outstanding contribution in midweek, the only player involved tomorrow that has actually won the competition will be Robin van Persie, who did it against United when he was at Arsenal.
"Everyone in the squad wants to win the cup," said Young.
"Not many of the players have won it and this game gives us a chance to get another step further on."
Young got as far as the semi-finals in his Aston Villa days - but they found Chelsea far too good in that 2010 Wembley encounter.
"That was disappointing," said Young. "But it's a bit like Tuesday, you have to move on.
"Hopefully it will be a different result this time because, as a boy, I wanted to play in an FA Cup final. Fingers crossed I will have that opportunity."
That semi-final win is part of a phenomenal Chelsea record in the FA Cup.
Since the final returned to Wembley in 2007, the Blues have emerged victorious on four occasions.
It is an amazing effort, which demands respect even though Rafael Benitez has failed to engineer the improvement expected since his arrival and United have had two extra days to prepare as the Blues have been on Europa League duty in Romania this week.
"The travelling to Romania and back could play in our favour but we are not concentrating on them and how many miles they have flown," said Young.
"We concentrate on ourselves and getting back to winning ways.
"The intensity is going to be higher than normal when you are playing one of the top four.
"But, irrespective of the result, we have to go into the game full of confidence because in midweek, the boys were fantastic."
Changes can be anticipated.
Ryan Giggs has already been told he will be rested, whilst Jonny Evans, Anderson, Javier Hernandez and Shinji Kagawa all have claims to be involved, and that is without mentioning Wayne Rooney.
The England striker has dominated discussions since Ferguson left him out of the Real Madrid game and for all the United manager's assurances Rooney will be at Old Trafford next season, should he fail to find a place for him against Chelsea it is hard to see a positive end to the situation.
Yet, as Young points out, Ferguson makes changes all the time.
"We have had squad rotation throughout the season, whether it is the league or any of the cup competitions," said Young.
"The manager has done fantastically well because any team he has picked has done superbly, that is why we are in the position we are in."
