Carrick wants to avoid drama

Michael Carrick would be delighted with a simple 1-0 win when Manchester United eventually play their FA Cup quarter-final replay at Chelsea.

He's held in high regard by Ferguson and when he counts his medals at the end of his career I doubt he'll care what a few armchair critics think. Most consistent United player for the past two seasons and with a better midfield around him United would have a better chance of success in Europe.

Sensible words from a sensible player, perhaps much of the anti carrick sentiments are based on how he quietly carries on without drawing controversy, I remember a similar character in Denis Irwin, just keeping his head down and getting on with the job, the major difference of course is Irwin was consistently held in high regard
