Carlos Tevez: Happy at Manchester City

The striker's contract expires in the summer of 2014 and City manager Roberto Mancini has previously expressed doubts about his long-term future.

Reports have suggested City could sell the Argentine this summer to avoid him leaving for nothing 12 months later, but Marwood has assured fans there is no reason to worry.

Marwood feels Tevez is now enjoying life at the club and insists there have been no offers for a player who has in the past expressed a desire to return to South America.

"Everyone knows Carlos only has a year left on his contract but he has been fantastic for Manchester City, his scoring record, his tenacity, his energy," Marwood said in the Daily Star.

"I think he is in a good place at the moment. Roberto Mancini has talked about extending Tevez's contract and these conversations will continue in the summer.

"We have had no offers and Carlos is happy at the club. Discussions will take place at the end of the season in terms of his future at City."

@shabtastic - I like it! I reckon they will let him get away with community service, and he'll choose to do youth football coaching, and he'll have his minders with him, and he won't even speak to the kids because his English is worse than my Chinese. That would be a real deterrent, along with the £10k (max) he will get fined and the points on the license (half a day's pay for him - and he's already disqualified and will have left the UK before the points expire anyway). In fact the ONLY thing they can do to him that will have any effect whatsoever is to lock him up. I also love his excuse for not presenting his documents following his previous offences - he didn't understand the word 'constabulary'. And of course you wouldn't think to ask someone would you Carlos? Like one of those nice English people who work at the same place as you, maybe? I mean there are some spectacularly stupid footballers around, but this man deserves some kind of award.
