The title and relegation battles may be settled, but it is all still to play for in the fight to secure a top-four finish. Arsenal are favourites to record a victory at Newcastle which will see them secure Champions League football next season, while Tottenham are odds-on to keep up the pressure by beating Sunderland.

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.
afa has to be favourite for the Everton job now, surely :) He'll realise his ambition to live and work on Merseyside again, get the best out of whoever plays for them, maybe win some cups and be thoroughly loathed by the toffee fans. What's not to like? Go ead, Ken, gimajob!

@ted crilly. No one is saying at one point he wasn't a good player. You don't win Bundesliga player of the year without having ability. Just that when he came to Liverpool - he was slow, off the pace and struggled to adjust to the pace of the premier league. I think even the biggest Sahin defender would admit that after a year ultimately out of the game (whether it be through injury or not on the team sheet at Real) he looks a shell of the player he formerly was in the Bundesliga. In regards to your comment about Skrtel, I'm going to put that down to you not watching much football other than Manchester United games, because Skrtel 3 months of solid form under Dalglish, but other than that he is error prone, inconsistent and is an average defender at best. Nothing to do with Rodgers.

@soul controller i don't think i've ever seen such a crass and insensitive comment on this site as my mother died three years ago. Maybe you could explain which part of my comment annoyed you so much to make such an insensitive remark and why ?

@tokyojoker i'm glad i'm not the only one who is bemused by the number of comments on this ! Thursday is usually a slow news day on here but yesterday we had the news of the Ferdinand England call-up,reaction to Arsenal's game in Munich and the build up to the three Europa League games featuring English teams and this was the one with the most comments ? I can only scratch my balding head and go WTF !

@theantieunuch, nothing remotely distainful about my use of Englishmen. This is an English website overwhelmingly visited by Englishmen and a quite a few are making bigoted attacks on Suarez. Its pathetic for you to try to insinuate that I'm making bigoted attacks on Englishmen by pointing out their bigotry. It just illustrates that so many unfortunate souls in England have been programmed to think you are less bigoted than anyone else and that anything can be bigoted. So not only is the bigot a bigot, but the person who labels the bigot a bigot is now also a bigot. That's why now you can be arrested, charged, convicted and sentenced for racism in England - what a f***ing joke. Eunuch, you are a programmed sheep.

He'd probably be fantastic if the team was built around him. If you had a midfielder who sat next to him and did all his running for him and the team moved in a way to create space he could be glorious. But he was never going to get that at Liverpool with Stevie and Luis in the team, and quite rightly so. Reminds me of when Robbie Keane came and looked very average indeed when the team wasn't setup to play for him. He was played further forward as he was an absolute liability infront of the defence. It was only a loan, it didn't work out, move on. Classless act blaming the manager. Regarding Rogers: last season he was a genius and was everyones favourite manager. The media loved him, my Man U supporting mate at work wanted him to replace fergie as he thought he was the future of football. Now he is regarded as David Brent, an embarrassment and a cancer on the game and it actually wasn't his team at Swansea anyway. a) why has the media completely turned on him b) why are people so easily led by basic schoolboy media spin

@Barnesy10 I found it funny that Elpistolero was lashing someone for talking nonsense and not having their facts right while not really having his own in order . If someone is giving their opinion on a subject and give an honest thought out opinion that's great but when someone uses 'non-facts' to lambaste someone elses opinion its gots to be pointed out . I was not doubting Gerrards ability , commitment or the fact that he played right back in the match , it was that he did not mark 'The Great and Powerful ' Cafu one of the best right backs of all time . I felt the reason he used this was to over egg his attack on the other poster . Gerrard is a dynamic , athletic type of midfielder who can play many positions where Sahin is restricted to that central midfield role . There are not many players who can play a multitude of positions well , you've pointed out Gerrard , there is Bale also , there was Roy Keane ( midfeld , cb , rb & lb ) these are very mobile players . Anyway that's all I was trying to point out .
