The title and relegation battles may be settled, but it is all still to play for in the fight to secure a top-four finish. Arsenal are favourites to record a victory at Newcastle which will see them secure Champions League football next season, while Tottenham are odds-on to keep up the pressure by beating Sunderland.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson believes it would be unfair to lump his team in with England's other Champions League failures.
m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.
afa has to be favourite for the Everton job now, surely :) He'll realise his ambition to live and work on Merseyside again, get the best out of whoever plays for them, maybe win some cups and be thoroughly loathed by the toffee fans. What's not to like? Go ead, Ken, gimajob!
hat is arguably the least inspiring England I have ever seen. There is not a single name in that list that makes me think I might actually want to watch this team. Not a one.

That's one opinion, but others give their thanks to the man. We also have ideas for a relegation playoff, happy memories of the season and a defence of Liverpool's campaign...

@aguero 95th min(Liverpool)... 27 years?? United first qualified for the CL in the 93/94 season, forgive me but I think that's 19 years. 2 finals beaten by possibly the best club side in history. I think even Fergie agreed United should have won it more times. There were 2 semi's we under performed, I think down to the players rather than Fergie. But if we look at from another way, only RM and Barca have it more in that time, both 3 times. So 2 times looks so awful. But it's easier to dress it up so you can mock it, if your a sad jealous person who can't cope with United's success. I could come down to your level and say it was so much easier to win the then EC when Liverpool had 4 of their wins. But I remember watching a couple those games and wanting Liverpool to win. I guess fans didn't act like crying spoilt little boys back then and were man enough to able to acknowledge another club's success even if they didn't like it. But your name says it all about you, that's an insult to your own club but I'm guessing you can only be a school kid.

Knocked out by BASEL!! in the group stage last year and a stupid mistake by Nani cost them this year, but they still fell apart when he was sent off. Its not game over when your down to ten men look at Chelsea last year 2-0 nil down with Terry sent off and they still went on to draw 2-2 against one of the all time great teams. So United are guilty of underachieving just like the rest. Its just a blip, English clubs will be back next year.

I think 'outstanding' against Real is stretching it a bit but it can't be denied that the Nani red card did deprive us of seeing whether we could have gone on and beaten them, it was certainly a better showing than in Europe last season anyway! I don't believe that United would have won the CL this season but we could have made it to the semi's, maybe even the final, but it wasn't to be and we move on...

You tell em boss. If city are going to continuously be a waste of space and only beat relegated la liga teams and bayern munichs reserves, can you give your place to Liverpool, or whichever of the London clubs doesn't make 4th? Or fulham cos Martin jol was a lasagne away from qualification with his last London team

It would be pretty unfair to point to Man Utd as being part of any recent English deteriation in the Champions League, after all they have been poor in Europe for years
