AndyJames makes a valid point I think. Yes owners should show more patience, not every team can win their respective league, some squads just need work and time to improve. The flip side, as already pointed out, is managers jumping ship for perceived better things, as a manager is compensated for being sacked there should also be sanctions, if there are I'm unaware and apologise, for managers who walk away from a contract...

Whilst there is some merit in what he says, it does work both ways. If Appleton had stayed in either his 1st or 2nd jobs this season he'd almost certainly still be employed right now. Nobody held a gun to his head and forced him to walk out on Blackpool after a couple of months. Similarly, our very own Dean Saunders walked out on Doncaster less than a year after they stuck by him when he relegated them.

You can't really argue with Gary Smith's sacking. Stevenage have been appalling since October and the 4-0 win of Sheffield United aside, the results just weren't good enough. The previous season with a team built by Graeme Westley Stevenage qualified for play off's and were expected to at least challenge for that again, instead they're languishing around 16th in the league throwing away games left right and centre.
