ANZHI WANT NANI
This was knocking around in our super-sexy Transfer Blog on Tuesday, but The Daily Mirror pick up on word that Anzhi are the latest club to show an interest in Nani.
The Portuguese winger is out of Manchester United's pre-season trip to the Far East with injury, and if the paper has things right then it could have played his last United game.
The paper claims coach Rene Muelensteen, who is now Guus Hiddink's assistant at Anzhi, will bring Nani to Russia.
The Mirror reports: 'United paid Sporting Lisbon £17m for Nani back in 2007 but, with just a year left on his contract, may have to settle for much less if they sell him.
'Italians Roma are also interested in Nani, while Turkish heavyweights Galatasaray had an £8.5m bid for the 26-year-old rejected last season.'
GERVINHO TO ROMA?
Speaking of Roma and unwanted wingers, The Daily Mail reckons the giallorossi want Gervinho, initially on loan but then on a permanent deal.
This could be 2+2=5 stuff as Gervinho played for Roma coach Rudi Garcia at Lille, but we don't want to harsh any Gooners' buzz here.
So we'll just say that it could result in Gervinho eventually leaving for about £7million.
The Mail also informs us that: 'Arsenal are also giving a trial to Colombia U20 midfielder Sebastian Perez Cardona, 20, of Atletico Nacional.'
BENTEKE WANTS SPURS
Christian Benteke's name is going to pop up quite a few times in these pages, when Spurs make an initial £12million offer for him, dither for two months before finally settling on a £19million move at 10.59pm on deadline day.
Until then - speculation!
The Daily Mail claims that Aston Villa have told potential suitors that it's £25million and not a penny less for their striker, and are not keen on a part-exchange deal.
Apparently Chelsea would be Villa's choice but Benteke wants Spurs, who might try to throw in either Jermain Defoe or Tom Huddlestone into any bid, but Villa want straight up cash.
FLAMINI COMING BACK?
Oooh, Mathieu Flamini might be coming back to England.
He told The Sun: "Milan offered me a contract for two years but I need to take my time and make the right decision.
"I've been in Italy for five years, I've had a great time and learnt a lot. But I miss England and I want to win the Premier League.
"It has a special place in my heart. I like the pace and the physicality of English football and I like that every game is very open.
"I've had some good offers but I want to take my time and decide what direction I will take. What's important is to be in a team which has a good project, good ambitions and abilities.
"I miss the Premier League but other countries are possible, too. I don't want to close any doors."
