Ola Toivonen: Ready to leave PSV in January

Toivonen has been a key player for PSV since arriving from Malmo in 2009 but is out of contract at the end of the season.

Toivonen has spoken to club bosses and confirmed that he feels it is the right time to embark on a new challenge, preferably when the transfer window reopens in January rather than on a free transfer in the summer.

The Sweden international, 27, has previously been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Newcastle United and Fulham among those credited with an interest.

"It looks good, it expires in June," Toivonen told Fotbollskanalen.se.

"We have had a meeting with the club and I told them how I feel. It was an open and honest talk.

"I want to find a new club. But PSV also want that I sign and help the club.

"The dream would be to move in January, then PSV also get money."
