The 25-year-old has netted seven times in 15 Primera Liga games so far this season, but his future remains uncertain with 18 months left on his current deal.

Sevilla have been reportedly keen to tie Rakitic down to a new contract, although the Croatia international insists that he is no nearer to reaching a conclusion.

"Now, news does not exist about my future," he told SFC.

"I have returned from my holidays and during these dates I did not use the phone. I will attend a meeting with the Sevilla directors and speak with calm.

"After, I will decide the best option for me in all senses."
