@Solksjaerr99, 'ur new job is to stand by ur new manager', always rings in my head when i want to criticise Moyes. Totally Out of depth he may appear to be, but he was considered 'GOOD ENOUGH' by Fergie and the Board. That will do for me, and I'm going to accept all the failures for this season with the hope that next season will be better. @peteborota chelsea, Oh dearie me! U must have a Jose pic ubder ur pilliow, in ur wallet, as ur wallpaper. Boy he must be ur god? Dat only explains y u make such comments like 'd ONLY man responsible for Mata @ United is Jose. Rumours hav it that Fergie played a key role in all of it, n the player himself had no say in it at all? Only recently we'v heard fools say on here that NO world class players will want to play for United/Moyes hey? either Mata isnt World class or ppl like u have just been fools all along

@iyibaba, I really cant bliv u typed that trash. I'v seen/heard a lot of trash from bitter/clueless fans, but urs today is 1st grade. Ur inference to RvP is not clear to me tho. So Wenger sold RvP to united cos we 'werent rivals wit u any more'? Considering u just finished 19 points behind United, does that not make u look stupid. What about selling Cole to Chelsea, or Clichy, adebayor, Nasri, k.Toure to City? Pls Pls guys, lets think before U type. Its not ur fault tho, Ozil wud have been playing for United had we showed any signs of interest in him

@pete_borota> Holy delusions batman. Are you aware Chelsea report £49.4m loss in 2013? Yes Drogbas salary is off the books, Essein has yet to be sold. However you have added in the Eto's & Ba's inflated wages. And off course wages of Schurrle, van Ginke, Willian and now Matic. But off course can't expect a Chelsea fan to remember these things, given your are used to Roman dropping some coin into your begging bowl when you run out.

Common sense says if you can't continue to pay high salaries for fringe players & comply with FFP. And Mata was a fringe player for Mourinhos Chelsea. Trying to compare him to Chelseas attempt at buying Rooney is ridiculous as Rooney is a first teamer not a bench warmer. After all we did sell you Veron, so such a transfer is not unprecedented.

Simply put the transfer had nothing to do with Mourinho and had everything to do with sugardaddy teams getting worrying about their finances and working to comply with FFP.

@Man of Ire. Was it 'balancing the books' when Mata was sub for all but 3 games this season too?? Quite clearly he doesnt fit a Mourihno system or team (lack of pace, lack of defensive capabilities) Good luck to him, he's a gent and a wonderful little player. But lets cut out all this, it was sale that was forced on the coach for financial reasons, please.

@man of ire this transfer was arranged by Fergie who went to Stamford Bridge to seal the deal when the two teams played. I don't see any issue who did it as long as it was completed but according to most reports neither Moyes or Woodward did the legwork.

one new player and we supposed to forget moyes is rubbish, i can only imagine rvp and mata being coached by phil neville. nothing is going to change as long as mata is surrounded by cloggers like carrick, jones and welbeck. on the other hand, with mata's style of play..there is a hope for cleverly after all..he always played well with anderson.

@cogs @harryboulton : I was merely pointing out that a lot has been said about United's ability to attract top talent. A lot of doubt has been cast on whether United have the money to spend. A lot of flak has been directed towards Moyes and Woodward for their failings in the transfer market in the summer gone by. This humongous transfer has gone a long way to silence those doubting toms and barking dogs.

Man of Ire what are you pretty sure about? Pretty sure that Jose was told to sell Mata. Pretty sure that with an additional £25 million in TV revenue. With an additional £15 million a year from a new samsung deal; From the loss of right down wages of Essien, Drogba, De Bryune from amortisation of players transfers that CFC have to sell? What a complete and utter pile of steaming shite. Let's make it simple, Woodward and Moyes got lucky. Had Chelsea board and Mourinho taken UTD's attitude there would be no sale. But let's get this very clear one person is responsible for Mata's arrival at United........ JOSE He was comfortable to lose Mata, he felt belief that Oscar, Matic, Willian, Hazard, Salah and Schurrle meant we could let Mata go. Without any of that Moyes and Woodward would be pissing in the wind. Spin it any way you want United, only one man is responsible for Mata at United.

@man of ire I wasn't referring to the Chelsea game, I was referring to the overall shambles. Moyes apologists will break it down to individual games with individual errors, but it's up to the manager to iron out these mistakes, so again the manager is the problem. Also, one of the reasons people give for why they didn't want Mourinho is that he needed to spend too much money to be successful, yet these same people are the ones saying Moyes needs to be given hundreds of millions of pounds to buy a new team. Personally if United are going to spend that amount of money, I'd trust Mourinho to spend it more effectively than Moyes. Please don't refer to Rooney's contract as 'da ting' we're not Arsenal and personally I think it's ludicrous that someone who spends half the time out of shape and disinterested is in any position to demand a pay rise, go and try it in your job, see what happens.

I

may well get slated by other United fans for this, but out of the three contenders, I'd far prefer Liverpool to win the title. Yes some elements of their fanbase can be a bit OTT, yes they're our biggest rivals and yes it will make our poor season feel even more like the end of an era (Fergie's gone, Liverpool are back on top). However I just have to applaud Brendan Rodgers and the way he's turned Liverpool around in just a couple of seasons. It...

ooray! We are all excited now, we beat a very mediocre team! With all due respect to WHU supporters, not winning that game shouldn't even be a consideration. This is the problem, there is no winning mentality at the Emirates - we're all congratulating ourselves beating a team that we have a winning record against.

s this meant to be an aspiration for United supporters? Moyes mediocrity strikes again. I see the Bayern boys don't want to sign for him, and his reputation amongst the senior European coaches make other key signings unlikely.
