It is clear that amid all the distracting player transfer speculation the press boys have missed a trick. After witnessing the genius tactics behind West ,Ham's performance in midweek. Any of the top teams bold enough to ditch their tactically inept managers and replace them with Mr Allerdici would certainly have guaranteed themselves the title. Firstly in restricting the game to 55 mins playing time and then by computer simulation working out that none of the opposition's 38 shots would go in. That the referee would miss all of the WWF moves his players used at corners and that he would also pretend he had given a free kick to spare his embarrassment at an opportunist goal. Not only that he realised that Chelsea who have an extremely poor scoring record when given lots of the ball would continue to be prolifigate with chances most teams would score. It was in flowing majestically forward that his genius was at it's zenith. Where did he come up with the idea of lumping the ball up to a big bustling centre forward. Surely it will not be long before word leaks out of Upton Park and one of the big clubs come calling. A word of caution though he may be lost to the English game because it cannot be long before a Barca ,Real or Bayern come forward, having seen the future of football. Sadly I fear as his name is Allerdyce not Allerdici , inverted racism may prevent him from reaching his true potential at a top team.

@red genesis - and therein lies the problem. Mata, Nani, and Januzaj are great when we have the ball, but you can't have three players in that position who are all 90% attack-minded. Not in the EPL. It's like a fantasy football team, where balance isn't important. We would concede at least as many as we score.

Valencia should go before Nani. His game has regressed to the point where he's almost unrecognisable as a footballer. As many have said here, give Nani a decent run of games on the right and he'll deliver more than Valencia has all season.

What's with all the Nani love notes here today? Every utd fan I know all say he should have been shown the door not given an improved contract. Now i'm not one to bash other teams players (I find that sort of behavior childish to say the least) but to try and compare a winger with a CM makes about much sense as comparing Barnes with Cleverly. Can you see the difference?

redgenesis, I've never understood why he hasn't been given a run on the right either. It is his preferred position and I would choose an in form Nani over an in form Valencia any day.

being better than Henderson or Moses is not enough. I'd be happy if we'd just play him on the right for 5 games in a row and give him some form. No doubt he's a talented boy, he just needs a run. Exactly the same was said of Ronaldo, and though he's not got his skill, he just needs some faith paid in him. Then he'll stop taking f*cking pointless shots in a desperate attempt to show that he's good. Him, Januzaj and Mata floating loosly around behind Rooney or RVP would be sparkling.

bobsy...you're obviously forgetting that screamer he scored against Liverpool on Easter Sunday 2008 so a) it has happened at least twice and b) he's still better than Jordan Henderson and Victor Moses.

e was right to leave, but not just because of the money City were coming into. If I remember rightly he had a reasonable amount of chances to shine at City, but he never passed the bloody ball. Loads of aimless dribbles and 40 yard shots and not much else. I would say that if he had learnt to be a bit more of a team player he may have done better at City.
