The Packd Like Sardines Gossip

PSG want Januzaj, Vidic heading to Inter on a free, Kroos shows a bit of ankle, Arsenal's summer wanted list...

Well. Big old stink in The Daily Star this morning. It could, of course, be nonsense. It probably is, of course, nonsense. But we in The Gossip Column are but stenographers for the great all-knowing, all-seeing eyes of those in the know. Or those who say they are in the know.

Look, you know it's bullshit and we know it's bullshit, but we're all here now so let's just crack on.

The Star reports that Paris Saint-Germain are loading £40million into their massive cash gun and pointing it in the direction of Old Trafford, because they think that will be enough to get Adnan Januzaj.

Apparently the French richos made a £15million bid for the United youngster in January, were told where to stick it, but seemingly didn't take that advice exactly to heart, as they will be back with a new, bigger offer, and they think this one will do the trick, particularly if United don't qualify for the Champions League.

He might not be the only one leaving, mind...

At the other end of the footballing age scale, there are plenty of reports around this morn suggesting that Nemanja Vidic will be leaving at the end of the season.

The Sun reports that Vidic himself isn't happy because he has failed to offer him a new contract for next season, with several Italian clubs lurking.

And The Daily Express tells us that one of the clubs in question is Internazionale - more than that, in fact.

The paper reckons Vidic will leave for Inter in the summer, with his people already thought to have 'held talks' with the Milan club.

The Express claims: 'Vidic is just one of a number of senior players at United who could leave at the end of the season.

'Rio Ferdinand, Patrice Evra and Ryan Giggs' deals all expire in the summer, with only the latter expected to remain at the club as a permanent member of David Moyes' coaching staff.

'Moyes indicated he wanted to extend Vidic's contract last year, but now the Serbian has become disillusioned with life in Manchester and will resist any negotiations.'

As for players potentially coming in, Toni Kroos continues to show United a bit of ankle.

Here is Kroos, from his Facebook page (of course), on his future:

"Much has been written, especially in the last few days, about my sporting future.

"The fact is I am very happy to play for Bayern and my position in the team is very good. [However] The fact is also that we couldn't agree a new contract.

"Since it runs until 2015 this is not a big problem, and we will see what the future brings.

"My focus is on the sport side of things and we will do everything possible to complete the season as successfully as last season."

Oh Toni, you old tease.

It seems the summer has already started. If you judge this sort of thing by the start of speculation about who Arsenal will sign, rather than the traditional weather/season method.

The Daily Mail claims Arsene Wenger has drawn up a wanted list for the summer transfer window, and he wants 'three world class players' - a new right-back, a centre-midfielder and a striker.

The paper reckons Jackson Martinez, Edin Dzeko, Mario Mandzukic and Diego Costa are the strikers he has his eye on, while 'Borussia Dortmund right-back Lukasz Piszczek has also been watched'.

And of course he'll be back in for Julian Draxler. But you probably knew that.

Glenn Hoddle is one of six leading contenders for the Swansea job along with Graeme Jones, Marcelo Bielsa, Dennis Bergkamp, Oscar Garcia and Steve Agnew...Fulham manager Rene Meulensteen is safe for now but his bosses at the rock-bottom Cottagers expect immediate improvement when their six January signings start playing...Cardiff City have signed a pre-contract agreement with Real Valladolid striker Javi Guerra...Eric Djemba-Djemba has signed for St Mirren. The former Manchester United man will wear the No. 99 shirt.

If you're having midfield problems I feel bad for son, Utd got 99 problems but at least Djemba Djemba ain't one...hit me (yes you may want to hit me for that!)

e was right to leave, but not just because of the money City were coming into. If I remember rightly he had a reasonable amount of chances to shine at City, but he never passed the bloody ball. Loads of aimless dribbles and 40 yard shots and not much else. I would say that if he had learnt to be a bit more of a team player he may have done better at City.
