@uptheblades, No it seems you are too, seeing as you felt the need to post your comment....twice. It's called 'deflecting attention from the players and team' and as is evident by your comment, its quite clearly working.

How do you expect managers to look after their players? Mourinho is talking perfect sense and only the envious cannot see it. Yes Chelsea are top and yes at the moment they look good and yes they are looking good for top a top four hopefully top three position. But then there is a team called City. Have you seen their home record? Before Chelsea went their they had a 100% record. I would love to see Chelsea win the Prem but my head says City especially when their top players are fit. Not only that just imagine for one minute you are in the same position as Mourinho. Would you honestly come out and say 'Yes we are the title favourites cause we beat City and are top'? If you would then you are a prune, simple. Don't you think Mourinho wants to win the title? Again the word prune comes in if you think he doesn't. Perhaps it has slipped your tiny minds but Mourinho is a manager, and a good one. So he has to motivate the players and the best way of doing that is saying things like 'we are not contenders' and more importantly 'we try to win out next game'. It seems pretty obvious to me but perhaps some need help, if Chelsea do win their next game and then their next after that what do you think will happen? The players will be filled with belief but their feet will still be on the ground. The best way of destroying a good side is telling them they are favourites, I thought this was obvious no?

@uptheblades- You are so obsessed with that "man" you had to click "Submit Comment" twice. In addition, why do you keep commenting on articles about that man if you don't take notice? I agree with him (if it makes you more upset) that top four is still the aim. :)

may well get slated by other United fans for this, but out of the three contenders, I'd far prefer Liverpool to win the title. Yes some elements of their fanbase can be a bit OTT, yes they're our biggest rivals and yes it will make our poor season feel even more like the end of an era (Fergie's gone, Liverpool are back on top). However I just have to applaud Brendan Rodgers and the way he's turned Liverpool around in just a couple of seasons. It...

ooray! We are all excited now, we beat a very mediocre team! With all due respect to WHU supporters, not winning that game shouldn't even be a consideration. This is the problem, there is no winning mentality at the Emirates - we're all congratulating ourselves beating a team that we have a winning record against.

Wenger hails important win

s this meant to be an aspiration for United supporters? Moyes mediocrity strikes again. I see the Bayern boys don't want to sign for him, and his reputation amongst the senior European coaches make other key signings unlikely.
