Alan Pardew: Wants Newcastle to finish above Manchester United

David Moyes' team are four points ahead of Newcastle after allowing victory over Fulham to slip from their grasp on Sunday, and Pardew wants his side to take advantage of that by beating Tottenham at home on Wednesday night.

Pardew said: "You are never safe from relegation, in my opinion, until you have 40 points in the bag, so we are not safe.

"But there's always an incentive in football, always. Your professional pride is the minimum.

"But the result at Manchester United yesterday was a result that cheered me up because if gives us a chance to try to catch them, and if we try to finish above Manchester United, that would be a hell of an achievement for this club regardless of anything else.

"That's the immediate incentive for us, and then we will see where it takes us."

Aussie mush, Yeah quite possibly. The Clash for 7th heaven, The Grudge Match, The Saints Vs The Devils only one can win or maybe draw, one will finish 7th the other will finish 8th, who will you decide. No doesn't have a good ring to it I'm afraid can't see it catching on for Super Sunday game.

e was right to leave, but not just because of the money City were coming into. If I remember rightly he had a reasonable amount of chances to shine at City, but he never passed the bloody ball. Loads of aimless dribbles and 40 yard shots and not much else. I would say that if he had learnt to be a bit more of a team player he may have done better at City.
