Why Is Ozil's Influence Waning?

With each passing week, Arsene Wenger is forced to answer more questions about Mesut Ozil's form. Has the German lost his touch, or is he simply in need of a rest?

Flop of the season? Him or Soldado?

I got to "team's fading dream of topping the Premier League table" and stopped reading. Serious? Can't be. Bait? Taken. Arsenal have been top of the table for 20 of the last 22 rounds, and are currently 2 points off the top with a game in hand.

Ivanovic's breath stinks, thats why.

@enterthedragon, Ivanovic could simply breath on your wimpish squad of hipster-haircutted little pr*cks and they'd all be out for the season, no tackles neccesary

It really is as plain as day, Germany and Spain have a Winter Break, England does not. England has a ruddy League Cup, Germany/Spain do not. England has shite referees who let the Ivanovic/Barrys get away with horrible tackles.

@Frew Opta apparently! Good article. One criticism, does seem a little harsh to say Arsenal's dreams of the title are fading. Perhaps it is fair comment though, when you consider what looks like the growing strength of Chelsea and City, who both have bigger, better squads to deal with the season. Arsenal, meanwhile are top of physioroom.com's injury table with five players out (City are equal top, admittedly, but see argument above), three of which have no confirmed return dates.

jenas christ what a moron. benzema giroud is pretty much 1:1. have u ever watched benzema? and comparing theo to ronaldo is like comparing a mercedes convertible to a bugatti. neither is bad. one is just exceptional. think we'll keep ozil. enjoy soldado. to be fair he is a beast at 12yards..

It's pretty well known that Ozil is a smoker, right? That's bound to have an impact. I daresay Mourinho was alluding to that in the quote you've put in this article, considering he criticized Balotelli for the same thing at Inter.

So basically he's weak, always has been and his weakness is now affecting him more playing in the premier league - something that could easily have been foretold. Well done Arsene, another man-mountain of a player to match the likes of Rosicky etc. Remember the kid in your primary school who was apparently allergic to *everything*? He's probably part of the Arsenal squad now.
