The Middlesbrough striker finished last season on loan at the Liberty Stadium, where he is a firm fans' favourite after his second spell at Swansea.

Boro and Swansea have been locked in talks since the end of the season, but now a deal in excess of £1million has been agreed for the Dutchman.

Emnes, 26, joined Boro from Sparta Rotterdam in 2008 when they paid over £3million for his signature.
