Khedira has been strongly linked with a summer move to Arsenal, with some reports in Spain suggesting the Gunners had struck a deal with the Champions League winners.

But Sky Sports News understands those reports are wide of the mark and the player’s agent, Jorg Neubauer, insists that Real have received no bid from any club.

Khedira has one year left on his contract at the Bernabeu, and Neubauer says talks are continuing with the club about a potential new deal.

The arrival of Toni Kroos from Bayern Munich does not necessarily mean Khedira is surplus to requirements - the two played in tandem at the World Cup.

Meanwhile Sky sources understand Arsenal right-back Carl Jenkinson is a potential target of West Ham, either on loan on a permanent deal.

Hard to see Jenkinson being sold to West Ham, and a loan not likely either. Speaking on Debuchy on Arsenal.com, Wenger said today: "[Jenkinson] is going to compete, of course. There is nobody today who can play 60 games at the top level - that's why you always need two players. People always want for you to have two players in every position or sometimes three, and then they will ask you 'who will play?' You don't know before the season starts but what is important is that you have good players to have a chance to compete at the top level." Case closed, eh?
