The Serie A outfit signed Argentina winger Juan Manuel Iturbe from Hellas Verona earlier this month, increasing speculation that Ljajic could leave the Giallorossi this summer.
Clubs such as AC Milan, Liverpool, Manchester United and Schalke were linked with the 22-year-old, although his agent Fali Ramadani insisted the 22-year-old wanted to stay.
Now Ljajic, speaking from the club’s US pre-season tour, has echoed this sentiment as he looks for a regular place in the side.
He told Corriere dello Sport: "I would like to stay. I've spoken with the club and I'll talk again when we are back in Italy.
"I like Roma and I've signed a four-year deal and I would like to complete my cycle here.
“I spoke also with coach Rudi Garcia. He told me nothing concrete - he explained to me that this season there will be many games and that there is a need for everyone.
“My aim is to find a place as a regular.”
