LIVERPOOL EYEING ETO'O
It's in a hell of a lot of newspapers so there's a whiff of truth about this one. Apparently, Liverpool are discussing former Chelsea man Samuel Eto'o as a potential candidate as the club look to bring in a new striker. It's by no means at the offer stage but it looks like the 33-year-old might be an option after discussions about Radamel Falcao (who is expected to join Real Madrid) and Wilfried Bony (who is considered too expensive at £19m and wage demands of £100,000 a week) came to nought.

ARSENAL'S QUEST FOR A DEFENDER...
...could lead them to Schalke captain Benedikt Howedes, according to the Daily Telegraph. Howedes can play right across the back four or even in midfield, so that certainly sounds like a viable option. There's no talk of a price though we're going to throw the figure of £14m in there just because we can.

The other option could be Daniel Agger, with The Sun claiming that not only are Arsenal preparing a £10m bid; they are expecting to get him. Poor Agger was reportedly in tears last week because he is so desperate to leave Liverpool and actually, you know, play some football.

BENATIA TO CHELSEA
It's a Daily Star exclusive so grab yourself a big handful of salt but they claim that 'Chelsea are set to land £30m Roma central defender Mehdi Benatia'. Sounds pretty unequivocal, right?

'Benatia, 27, is also being chased by Manchester United, but Chelsea are ready to seal the deal this week ahead of their first game at Burnley on Monday,' they claim, despite Jose Mourinho very publicly saying that they have finished with their business for the summer.

They claim that Benatia will be a replacement for David Luiz, which makes us think that they have forgotten about the arrival of Kurt Zouma.

was there, it was embarrassing - the team looked totally unbalanced from the off, the defence was woeful and when Mikel came off injured it got even worse with nobody in front of them. Up front on several occasions we had opportunities and nobody would shoot - it was a complete farse! On the back of Salah's performance I'm glad there is talk of getting shot...

reat to see Tommy Rosicky getting some love. A wonderful player. Such a pity we lost so long to injury. I was so excited when we signed him, this resurgence only makes the absences seem more of a lost opportunity.
