The Stolen Stir-Fry Gossip

Chelsea target Negredo, Man City to sell Lescott for just £8m, Man United to bid £15m for Baines, Arsenal chase Nani and...

CHELSEA PLOT NEGREDO MOVE
It's been widely reported that Chelsea are looking for another striker to provide competition for Fernando Torres, and the latest name to be linked with the Blues is fellow Spanish international Alvaro Negredo.

Negredo is apparently keen to leave Sevilla, who are struggling in La Liga this season, and has been offered to several clubs for around £16million, according to The Daily Mail.

The Mail claim: 'Negredo was a target for Benitez when he was at Liverpool. He has an impressive goalscoring record and has made an impact with Spain's national team, and the valuation of the 27-year-old will not be a problem for a club of Chelsea's resources.

'They are about to offload Daniel Sturridge to Liverpool for a similar fee and will use the money to reinvest.'

CITY TO SELL LESCOTT FOR JUST £8MILLION
Matt Stanger pondered Joleon Lescott's predicament at Manchester City in Big New Year and, if you believe The Sun, the defender will be on his way in January.

Roberto Mancini seems to have lost faith in the England international (perhaps it was that back-header that led to QPR scoring in the final game of last season) and the impressive Matija Nastasic has been preferred alongside Vincent Kompany this campaign.

The Sun claim Lescott, who joined City for £24million from Everton in 2010, could be allowed to leave for as little as £8million, with Galatasaray leading the chase for his signature.

Everton are also keen to take the 30-year-old back to Goodison Park, but would struggle to meet his £90,000-a-week wages.

UNITED TO BID £15MILLION FOR BAINES
Quick line from The Daily Mail now, who claim Manchester United will follow up their interest in Leighton Baines with a £15million bid in January.

With Chelsea and PSG also linked with the left-back, United have been forced to make their move and The Mail report: 'Sir Alex Ferguson has made a replacement for first-choice left back Patrice Evra a top priority, with Chelsea's Ashley Cole, who is out of contract at the end of the season, another option for Ferguson.

'But he prefers Baines, even though he will face stiff competition for the 28-year-old in the transfer window.'

Poor Alexander Buttner, he's been so useless that The Mail have completely forgotten about him.

REAL MADRID OFFER £33MILLION FOR BALE
The Mail are also reporting that Real Madrid are set to offer £33million for Gareth Bale, as Jose Mourinho looks to boost his ailing side in January.

Andre Villas-Boas said last week that it would be 'completely impossible' for Bale to leave half-way through the season, but that hasn't deterred Mourinho, who is desperate for Spurs winger to join former teammate Luka Modric at the Santiago Bernabeu.

We can't see Daniel Levy accepting as little as £33million, though.

ARSENAL TARGET NANI
This story is refusing to go away ahead of the transfer window re-opening, with the Mirror reporting that Arsene Wenger hopes Sir Alex Ferguson returns his 'favour' of allowing Robin van Persie to join Manchester United by selling Nani to Arsenal.

'Wenger is ready to call in the favour by asking him to let Nani join Arsenal as the Portuguese is on his way out after reaching a contract stalemate at United,' report the Mirror.

'They also remain keen on Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha but Nani is seen as an experienced international who could add ready-made quality in January.

'Wenger has been told he can buy big and is able to afford Nani's transfer fee which could top £12m while it is believed he has revised his wage demands and Arsenal could go to £90,000-a-week.'

Thoughts, Arsenal and United fans?
