BALOTELLI PLANS MILAN RETURN
Despite being called a 'rotten apple' by Silvio Berlusconi, it seems Mario Balotelli could be on his way to AC Milan this month in a £24million deal.
According to The Sun, the Man City striker has already given notice on his rented house in England and has also begun flying his possessions back to Italy.
The Sun report: 'His representative Mino Raiola was in Italy this week for talks over a move back to the San Siro.
'City boss Roberto Mancini is now happy to see the back of a player who has caused him nothing but trouble since his £22m switch from Inter in 2010.'
Balotelli is a lifelong fan of AC Milan and is thought to be keen on a move if the Serie A club can meet City's asking price.
LIVERPOOL LAUNCH COUTINHO BID
An interesting story from The Daily Telegraph now, who claim Liverpool have made an £8million bid for Internazionale playmaker Philippe Coutinho.
The young Brazil international shot to prominence with a string of impressive displays in the 2010/11 season, but has since struggled to nail down a first team place at the San Siro and was loaned to Espanyol last year, where he scored five goals in 16 matches.
The Telegraph claim Liverpool may have to increase their initial offer for Coutinho, who has also been linked with Aston Villa, but Brendan Rodgers is keen on the Brazilian after growing frustrated in his bid to sign Tom Ince.
The Telegraph also add: 'Club chairman Tom Werner is currently on Merseyside ahead of the weekend's Premier League fixture with Norwich and spent Friday in discussions about January business.'
SPURS MOVE FOR M'VILA
After losing Sandro to a knee injury for the rest of the season, Spurs are apparently set to hijack QPR's £8million move for Yann M'Vila.
The Daily Mail claim Spurs have been rebuffed by Schalke in their approach to bring forward Lewis Holtby's move to White Hart Lane and Rennes midfielder M'Vila has emerged as a possible alternative.
According to The Mail: 'QPR remain in negotiations for the 22-year-old while Everton also want him, but on loan initially.
'The main rivals are Russian side Rubin Kazan who have made the best financial offer but M'Vila would prefer to play in England.'
The paper add that if Spurs decide not to pursue their interest in M'Vila, Arsenal target Momo Diame could be considered as a cheaper option.
LAMPARD CLOSE TO GALAXY DEAL
According to The Evening Standard, Frank Lampard is close to signing a pre-contract agreement to join LA Galaxy.
The England midfielder has been told he can leave Chelsea when his current deal expires in the summer and it's thought that Galaxy are at an advanced stage in negotiations to take Lampard to the MLS.
Galaxy coach Bruce Arena said on Friday: "I wouldn't be surprised if over the next week or so we're going to have some sort of decision with a designated player.
"We wouldn't rule a move for Lampard out. It's always a possibility."
