MONACO AFTER ROONEY
More on Wayne Rooney, you'll no doubt be delighted to learn.

Word before today that AS Monaco's main transfer target for the summer was Carlos Tevez, but The Daily Star reckons they have another man in mind.

And that man is Wayne Rooney, who they will apparently make a move for should they confirm promotion to Ligue 1 at the end of this season.

The Star reports: 'Fellow super-rich French side Paris St-Germain and German giants Bayern Munich are also keen on the unsettled England hitman, with Rooney himself understood to fancy Barcelona.

'But Monaco's billionaire owner Dmitry Rybolovlev is on a mission to lead the club back to the top of European football and sees Rooney as the man to help him.'

RONALDO TOLD TO STAY
One suspects that the futures of Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo could be linked in some way.

However, if The Daily Mail is right, the latter won't be moving anywhere this summer.

The paper reports that Ronaldo 'has been advised by his agent Jorge Mendes to stay at Real Madrid for another season.'

There's no specific reason given for this advice, but apparently Mendes believes Ronaldo will be better off sticking around in Madrid for 'another year, and then taking his pick of clubs across Europe.'

PSG are of course interested, but he would prefer a return to United. It says here.

RODGERS MAKES PLANS
Brendan Rodgers is already making plans for the summer transfer window, and he wants 'three or four' additions to the Liverpool squad.

Rodgers is quoted as saying in The Daily Telegraph:

"There is no doubt there is a natural rebuilding that will come with the likes of Jamie Carragher retiring. I am happy with the squad if I can then put another three or four quality players to it.

"It is quality we are after, not quantity. We see Coutinho and Sturridge's quality in January, if we bring in another three or four players of that quality and add that to what we have got then we have got a strong squad.

COURTOIS WANTS TO STAY
Thibault Courtois wants to stay at Atletico Madrid next season, rather than returning to Chelsea.

We know because he said so.

He's quoted as saying in The Daily Mirror: "I am happy, I like my life here, my team-mates. It is not just my decision, Chelsea and Atletico also have to talk.

"But everyone knows I like it here and, if I can, I want to stay."

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.
