MADRID LINE UP SUAREZ AND FALCAO
The great thing about Marca now having an English site is that it means we can shovel even more transfer bulls**t than usual in your direction.
The week or so after the summer window closes is supposed to be the quietest of the year, but the Spanish daily have gone cojones out with their story that Real Madrid want to sign either Luis Suarez or Falcao in January.
Apparently the £42.4m Madrid received for Mesut Ozil is already burning a hole in their pocket, with Florentino Pérez 'still keen on signing a 'galactico' centre-forward to complete Ancelotti's new-look Real Madrid side'.
Marca repeat the claim that Madrid had agreed terms with Suarez, but Perez switched his attention back to Gareth Bale when Spurs eventually decided to play ball.
The fact that neither Suarez or Falcao are playing in Europe this season, and therefore won't be cup-tied, is also listed as a significant incentive for Madrid.
LIVERPOOL AND ARSENAL TRACK BARCA DEFENDER
According to the Express, Liverpool and Arsenal are eyeing a move for Barcelona youngster Martin Montoya, who is stalling over a new contract at Camp Nou.
Montoya's current deal expires at the end of the season and the 22-year-old is reportedly concerned by his lack of first-team football as he tries to usurp Dani Alves. Good luck with that, fella.
"For the moment he is under contract with FC Barcelona until the end of the season," the Spain U21 international's agent told Sky Italia.
"However, the contract extension has still not arrived.
"We have talked but there is no certainty that Martin Montoya would hold down a first-team spot, because right now Daniel Alves closes the door.
"The transfer window is closed, but I can tell you that the contract extension may not be successful.
"In the past, Inter Milan, Napoli, Bayer Leverkusen, Dortmund and Liverpool were interested.
"Anything could happen between now and June."
OWLS WANT BUTLAND
The Football League loan window re-opens today and Sheffield Wednesday are looking to tie up a tasty bit of business by signing Jack Butland on loan.
The Stoke keeper has voiced his fears at being Mark Hughes' number three this season and is hoping to secure a move to keep his World Cup dream alive.
According to the Daily Mail, the Owls will now try to take advantage of Butland's unrest with the offer of a temporary switch.

@zoey - I think that's the point. He's suddenly realised he's a defender at Barca, and as a result has absolutely no chance of getting in the team. Although if he's a right back, I'd be surprised if Arsenal are really interested. Sagna and Jenkinson cover that for the first team, and Bellerin seems to be set to challenge for the spot in the future. Could be preparation for losing Sagna next summer, I guess.- ray_bandana
