ARSENAL IN FOR ROONEY
Arsenal will test Manchester United's resolve to keep Wayne Rooney by making a £30million bid for the striker in January, according to the Daily Mail.
The Gunners still have a sizeable transfer kitty left after signing Mesut Ozil and Arsene Wenger has made a new forward his top priority, with the Mail also reporting that Luis Suarez remains on the manager's wish list.
'The club believe that Rooney will consider their bid seriously, even though he seemed to prefer to move to Chelsea in the summer, because they have now signed Germany playmaker Ozil,' report the Mail.
'Real Madrid are now expected to bid for Suarez in January and it is clear that Liverpool would prefer to sell him abroad and that the player would prefer a move to the Bernabeu.'
Although Rooney scored on his return against Crystal Palace, it's thought that the striker is still unhappy following Sir Alex Ferguson's claim that he asked to leave last season.
LLORENTE CHASE BEGINS
Another name who has apparently cropped up in Arsenal's striker search is Fernando Llorente, who only joined Juventus from Athletic Bilbao in the summer.
According to the Mirror, Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea are all interested in the Spain international amid reports that he's struggling to settle in Italy.
'The 28-year-old has been stuck behind Carlos Tevez and Mirko Vucinic, and is understood to be struggling to settle into Italian life,' claim the Mirror.
'Juventus rejected bids for Llorente before the summer transfer window closed, but his situation has alerted clubs across Europe.'
SPURS WANT EL SHAARAWY
Along with Llorente, Spurs are in the hunt to sign AC Milan forward Stephan El Shaarawy in January, according to the People.
The People claim that Andre Villas-Boas still has 'the budget and desire to sign a top striker', with a £20million move for El Sharaawy currently being considered.
It's thought that Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor will both move on when the transfer window re-opens, but it's hard to believe that El Shaarawy could be tempted from AC Milan in the middle of a Champions League campaign.

If arsenal are in 4th-5th, which they probably will be, and we have an equally good replacement then he can go to arsenal.- wozza
