LLORENTE FOR ARSENAL IN JANUARY?
There are an awful lot of 'coulds' in this Daily Mirror piece (four in fact) but the logic is pretty sound. Arsenal need a striker in January because they only have one fit forward (if we're ignoring Nicklas Bendtner, which seems apt) and Fernando Llorente is not getting in the Juventus side in a World Cup season. So what's the best thing for all parties? Llorente joining Arsenal on loan, of course.
Gunners' sights are apparently still set on Luis Suarez but he is unlikely to be available in January. Or indeed next summer, when Real Madrid will fancy their chances if he can keep his nose clean for a whole season.
TOON EYE UP RICHARDS?
This one makes a great deal of sense. Micah Richards is getting a bit long in the tooth (25) to still be a prospect and needs regular first-team football if he ever wants to play for England again. It must be particularly galling to watch Kyle Walker look defensively confused while playing for England while Richards is sat in his pants at home.
Newcastle always need quality defenders and The Sun claim they have made an informal enquiry for Richards, who has not started a single Premier League game for City this season. He was picked to play against Bayern Munich but his performance in that game suggests he might not be picked again any time soon.
VALENCIA TO GALA?
To our favourite Turkish newspaper now (Fanatik) and news of a possible move from Galatasaray boss Roberto Mancini for Manchester United winger Luis Valencia. Clearly there is a gap in his squad for a willing but woefully one-footed winger and Mancini is prepared to pay £12.5m for such a player, pushed further down the United opecking order by the emergence of Adnan Januzaj.
Providing some competition for Valencia could be Everton, who are apparently eyeing the Ecuador winger as a makeweight in any deal to take Leighton Baines to Old Trafford.
You heard it here first: Arsenal will bid for Suarez again in January... apparently, a bid of £40,000,002 is being prepared as we speak!- matt15889
