UNITED TO OFFER ROONEY NEW DEAL
Manchester United are planning to offer Wayne Rooney a new four-year contract, according to The Sun.
There was plenty of speculation that the striker wanted to join Chelsea in the summer, but he has started the season in impressive form, saying that David Moyes "has given me a new lease of life".
'The Old Trafford board are bullish about Rooney staying now new boss David Moyes has refocused the striker following a turbulent summer,' report The Sun.
However, the paper add that Rooney 'is happy to play a waiting game' and 'is still in no rush to commit just three months after he almost left the club for Chelsea'.
Unsurprisingly, The Sun claim that Rooney will demand an increase on his basic wage of £250,000 a week while United have considered lowering that figure but adding an improved bonus package.
INTER EYE VERMAELEN
After Thomas Vermaelen hinted that he might need to leave Arsenal in January to keep his World Cup hopes alive, Internazionale have been linked with a move for the defender.
talkSPORT claim that Inter boss Walter Mazzarri is 'monitoring Vermaelen's situation' as the 27-year-old continues to be squeezed out of Arsene Wenger's first XI by Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny.
According to talkSPORT: 'The San Siro side were recently taken over by Indonesian billionaire Erick Thohir and they have been tipped to launch a spending spree when the transfer window re-opens in January.'
LIVERPOOL TRACK GUIDETTI
Ooh, this is interesting. According to the Metro, Liverpool are considering a January swoop for Man City youngster John Guidetti following his return to full fitness.
'The 21-year-old, who has been battling injuries and illness in the last 18 months, has now fully recovered after having knee surgery in the summer,' report the Metro.
'But after Manuel Pellegrini warned him this week that he will struggle to get into the City side, Guidetti looks all but certain to leave in the new year.
'Liverpool are known to be the front runners for his signature, having followed him since his loan spell at Feyenoord in 2012, where he scored 20 times in 23 matches.'
Apparently the Reds face competition from Monaco and Trabzonspor, but it's thought that Guidetti - who would cost around £5million - is keen to stay in the Premier League.
...AND CONSIDER MOVE FOR ZIELER
Quick line from the Daily Star now, who claim that Liverpool are tracking former Manchester United keeper Ron-Robert Zieler.
The Hannover shot-stopper has been linked with a move to Schalke after it was revealed that he has a £7million release clause in his contract, but Brendan Rodgers is keen on signing the 24-year-old as back-up to Simon Mignolet.
