LIVERPOOL CHASING DEMBELE
Not former Fulham midfielder Mousa Dembele of course, but current Fulham striker Moussa Dembele. The 17-year-old was watched by a three-man Liverpool scouting team as he scored twice for the Cottagers' Under-21 side last week. Manchester United are also said to be interested in the young Frenchman, which makes us wonder why Martin Jol hasn't thought to give him a chance in his struggling side. Does he have to wait until he's over 30 to play for Fulham?
Anyway, according to the Daily Mirror, 'Brendan Rodgers does not think he has a similar young striker in his squad and is keen to either land him in the next window or do a deal that will see the kid move to the Anfield giants down the line.'
ALUKO FOR PALACE?
This is a tad bizarre. Hull striker Sone Aluko is out of contract next summer and is crocked until February but the Daily Mirror suggests that Crystal Palace will sign him for £2.6m in January. Quite why he would go is another question - the Daily Mirror is giving quite a lot of weight to him being London-born, but he has spent exactly none of his career playing for a London club so we're unsure why he would be desperate to get back there now.
Contract talks with Hull have staled with Steve Bruce saying last week: "Sone has turned down our latest offer, which was a very good one, and there won't be any more discussions for the time being. All contract talks at the minute will be put on the back burner, and we shall concentrate on getting Sone fit."
ETO'O OR DEFOE FOR TORONTO?
What a lovely move that would be for Samuel Eto'o. He only has a one-year deal at Chelsea and, according to Sports Illustrated, MLS side Toronto have already been in touch offering some lovely money to play in Canada under Ryan Nelsen next season. But Eto'o is not their only target, with Jermain Defoe and Genoa striker Alberto Gilardino also said to be under consideration as big-name striker signings.
