SUAREZ COULD STILL LEAVE
Well, this was inevitable, and it's the Daily Star Sunday who have stepped up to harsh the buzz of Liverpool fans enjoying the sight of their team at the top of the table.
The paper reports that despite Suarez signing a new contract on Friday, he could still leave the club next summer, Suarez 'demanded certain guarantees' from the Liverpool hierarchy.
And top of that list is apparently a right to 'negotiate an exit' should Barcelona or Real Madrid come calling at the end of the season.
Apparently the latter have already been in touch, while the former's interest depends on whether Gerardo Martino is still their manager next summer, with talk that the Argentinean coach could leave the Nou Camp, and if he's replaced by someone like Guus Hiddink, Barca will be keen too.
The paper claims: 'Those close to Suarez admit he would find it almost impossible to leave should Liverpool win the title this season.
'But it could be another story if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.'
LOT OF STUFF ABOUT ROONEY KNOCKING AROUND
More from The Daily Star Sunday now, and they report that Jose Mourinho has six targets in mind for Chelsea.
And they are Fredy Guarin, Nemanja Matic, Andrea Ranocchia, Radamel Falcao, Jackson Martinez and....Wayne Rooney.
The paper claims: 'There are signs that he will sign a new deal at United but the Chelsea boss knows he could be the man to spark his misfiring strikeforce into life.'
Meanwhile, The Sun on Sunday claims Real Madrid are keen on Rooney, and would like him to 'stall' on a new Manchester United contract in order to get him for cheap in the summer.
A 'source' told the paper: "Manchester City's Sergio Aguero is a priority, but Wayne Rooney is also very much on the list and, if he has not renewed his contract, then it makes the operation easier."
Rooney's current deal has 18 months left on it, meaning that Real think they can get him for about £20million in the summer, with just a year remaining then.
IKER & MORATA FOR ARSENAL?
Another line from The Daily Star Sunday, who have clearly had three Weetabix this morning.
They claim Arsenal are set to make a 'double swoop' for Real Madrid pair Iker Casillas and Alvaro Morata in January.
This is all according to 'reports in Spain', so make of it what you will. Wenger apparently wants Morata to beef up his forward line options, while Casillas would provide competition for Woijiech Szcezsny.
BA PLAYS DOWN GOONER TALK
One man who seemingly won't be joining Arsenal is Demba Ba. And here he is to explain why
"People talk a lot about me joining Arsenal," Ba is quoted as saying in The Sun on Sunday. "But there has never been an approach from them.
"There is nothing going on in this regard. Things are OK for me at the moment.
"It's working, as the situation is turning around for me here bit by bit. I am getting more time on the pitch as a result of the injuries to our strikers Samuel Eto'o and Fernando Torres.
"You just need a bit of time to adapt when you change clubs. I've been in a process of adaptation while moving between West Ham, Newcastle and Chelsea.
"But as soon as I'm given the chance to prove myself, I take it so the fact that I've often been on the substitute's bench is nothing serious."
BAINES NOT FOR SALE
Here's Roberto Martinez on Leighton Baines' future, amid talk of a move from Manchester United.
"If I want a player I need to match the valuation to then put the other club and the player in a situation to make a decision," Martinez told the Sunday Mirror.
"We have never been in a situation where the valuation has been matched with Leighton.
"As a club we don't need the money. We don't need to balance the books and that is a situation we wanted to have - to make football decisions, not financial decisions.
"We don't want to sell Leighton. When you are in a position when you have to bring money then are relying on what you can sell. We are not in that position.
"We're not in talks with him about a deal. We don't have to say it publicly but nobody is for sale."
