GRIEZMANN TO ARSENAL
After their title bid hit the rocks in traditional style at Stoke this weekend, Arsenal fans could be forgiven for needing a little fillip this morning to give them some pep in their step. Well, Antoine Griezmann anyone?

The French winger, currently at Real Sociedad, has long been touted as a star of the future, and the Daily Star today use quotes from Arsene Wenger to Telefoot in order to presume that Arsenal will chase the midfielder in the summer.

"Yes, we follow him in great detail," Wenger said.

"That should not come as a surprise because he attracts other clubs as well.

"But we follow him, he is a known commodity."

Doesn't sound like it's quite wrapped up just yet.

JANFIELD. SORRY.

Jan Vertonghen gave some rather unhelpful quotes last week (from a Tottenham perspective) in which he discussed being offski should Spurs fail to qualify for the Champions League.

Such words have put both clubs and newspapers on high alert, and the Metro this morning put two and two together to suggest that Liverpool could be the defender's likely next destination.

With Jose Enrique out injured and Aly Cissokho slightly below the level required, a summer move for Vertonghen would certainly make sense with cover in central defence also needed. Watch this space.

LESCOTT OFFER FROM TURKEY

Clubs in the Turkish Superliga certainly seem to be feeling pretty flush at the moment, if recent transfer rumours are to be believed. Firstly we had reports of Galatasaray fluttering their eyelashes at Bacary Sagna, and then yesterday were claims that Trabzonspor would make Nemanja Vidic a chunk contract offer. Today is the turn of Besiktas, who the Daily Mirror believe are chasing unwanted Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott.

Lescott had a loan move to West Ham break down in January, and he is considered to be counting down the days until his City departure after failing to secure regular first-team football for the best part of two years.

The paper claim that Besiktas will offer Lescott £100,000 a week, which is worth reading several times to get its true impact. £100,000 would actually be an increase on his Manchester City weekly wage, and he turns 32 in August. Does someone want to take them to one side and have a quiet word?

ASHLEY WILLIAMS IN SERIE A?

Lescott's move isn't the weirdest rumour involving a Premier League centre-back today though. Not by a long shot.

The Daily Mirror claim that Napoli manager Rafael Benitez was impressed by Swansea's Ashley Williams during the Europa League tie between the two clubs, and has made the Welshman a summer target, with a £5million fee mooted.

The paper also claim that Arsenal and Liverpool have shown interest in Williams, but fail to mention that such interest stopped around a year ago when the defender's form dropped pretty sharply.

I

think all those names linked to United exits make sense. Kagawa has never really looked like hitting the form he had at Dortmund and Fellaini is radioactive after last season (even though I think he's been unfairly singled out for criticism). Nani and Anderson have had more than their fair share of chances so they are done, and Hernandez deserves better than warming a bench.

e'll be off to Spurs (or better) in January and I don't blame him. Looking forward to re-signing Grant Holt as his replacement though.
