BARCA BACK IN FOR LUIZ
With the news that Carles Puyol is leaving Barcelona, it was perhaps inevitable that they would be linked with a number of centre-backs, and according to The Daily Telegraph this morning they are looking to replace his defensive abilities, but his hair too.
The paper claims Barca are back in for David Luiz, and should make a move in the summer.
The Telegraph reports: 'A bid of €30 million (£24.7 million) is expected for the 26-year-old Brazil international.
'Barcelona hope to conclude a deal swiftly before the World Cup finals kick off in June, with Luiz an important figure in Luiz Felipe Scolari's Brazil squad.'
However, the paper reports Barca might have to offer a little more than that, with Bayern Munich also interested.
MOYES WORRIED ABOUT RVP
Quick line in The Daily Star, who claim that David Moyes is worried about Robin van Persie. Specifically, his attitude and whether he will actually want to stick around at Old Trafford.
The paper claims: 'Starsport understands the Manchester United boss has told friends and colleagues in private that he is worried about the Dutch striker's contribution to the squad and input around the camp.
'...he has looked a shadow of his former self this time round due to a string of injuries and some erratic form.
'Rumours he wants to leave the champions refuse to disappear, while several of his team-mates fear he is unhappy at Old Trafford.'
'LOGISTICAL PROBLEMS' WITH UNITED OVERHAUL
Hmmmm. That's what we have to say about The Daily Mail's story about Manchester United this morning. Hmmmmm.
The paper reports that David Moyes wants eight - sorry, EIGHT - new signings in the summer, but this will present a 'logistical nightmare'.
Why? Well, because they might not have enough players to go on their pre-season tour. A problem to which most people might shrug, but of course the Mail are awfully worried.
The paper doesn't even play ball by suggesting many of these new players, other than a sort of half-hearted mention of Toni Kroos.
So this has all been a bit of a waste of time. Cool. Cheers for coming.
NEW DEAL FOR RAMSEY
A couple of papers this morn report that Arsenal are set to give Aaron Ramsey a great big pile of cash.
After Per Mertesacker and Tomas Rosicky signed new deals this week, Arsenal are apparently looking to tie their Welsh midfielder down to a similarly shiny contract, and according to The Guardian will double his wage.
The paper reports: 'The Wales international has agreed a deal worth in excess of £100,000 a week, more than doubling his current salary and making him the second-highest paid player at Arsenal, behind only Mesut Özil.
'Ramsey had more than two years remaining on the deal he signed in December 2012 but it is a measure of how highly Arsène Wenger regards the 23-year-old midfielder that the Arsenal manager was keen to extend the player's contract at the earliest opportunity as well as approve a significant wage increase.'
INTER IN FOR PODOLSKI
Interesting story in The Daily Star, who report that Inter are 'weighing up' a move for Lukas Podolski in the summer.
With Nemanja Vidic in the bag and Patrice Evra potentially following, Inter have clearly decided England is the place to go shopping this summer.
Apparently 'Inter owner Erick Thohir is eager to overhaul the club's current squad', and has Podolski in mind, however 'Arsene Wenger has made no indication he is willing to let Podolski leave, with the 28-year-old contracted to the club until 2016.'
