MARTINEZ FOR ARSENAL?
We begin with manager gossip rather than transfer gossip and the Daily Star claims an exclusive that 'Roberto Martinez has emerged as the leading candidate to succeed Arsene Wenger at Arsenal'. It's not a massively surprising shout as Martinez is making great strides at Everton with a style of football not dissimilar to Arsenal's.

Wenger is expected to sign a new two-year deal in the very near future but the club - and the Frenchman himself - are casting their eyes and minds forward and apparently coming up with the name of the Spaniard.

SPURS TO BUY BRITISH-BASED
You may have to stretch your minds to thinking that Tim Sherwood will still be in charge of Tottenham next season when you read this gossip taken from the MailOnline's transfer column from Thursday afternoon.

They claim that Sherwood is unsurprisingly leaning towards buying players with extensive experience of the Premier League, with two of the names on his list being West Ham centre-half Winston Reid and Manchester City's slotted spoon James Milner.

ITURBE FOR LIVERPOOL?
Brendan Rodgers' search for a winger could take him to Porto's Juan Iturbe, according to that transfer column on the Daily Mail website. They claim: 'The 20-year-old Argentine has impressed during a loan spell at Hellas Verona which has also alerted Roma, Inter and Juventus.' Iturbe himself has expressed an interest in staying in Italy.

Previous Liverpool target Yevhen Konoplyanka has apparently emerged as a target for PSG.

ven if United were to sign CR7 & Messi to play upfront, the fact remains Fletcher and Cleverly are playing in midfield. That's where the problem is. Fletcher is too slow with an awful pass, while Cleverly is simply rubbish
