Liverpool's early assault on the transfer market is showing no signs of slowing down after the Reds were linked with a move for Xherdan Shaqiri.

The 22-year-old is reportedly keen to leave Bayern Munich after struggling to break into the first team under Pep Guardiola, and it's thought Anfield is his preferred destination.

According to the Daily Star: 'Liverpool lodged a £15m bid for Shaqiri last week with manager Brendan Rodgers intent on bolstering his squad ahead of a return to the Champions League next season.

'And according to reports in Shaqiri's native Switzerland, Liverpool are close to clinching his signature.'

We wonder what that means for the Reds' interest in Adam Lallana.

Quick line from The Sun now, who claim that Ramires is attracting interest from Real Madrid ahead of the World Cup.

The 27-year-old, who has been included in Brazil's squad, suffered a dip in form at Chelsea this season and missed the last four matches of the campaign after elbowing Sebastian Larsson in the Blues' 2-1 defeat to Sunderland.

However, that hasn't deterred Carlo Ancelotti, who is reportedly readying a £25m bid for the midfielder.

According to the Guardian, Samir Nasri is close to agreeing a new five-year deal with Manchester City.

The 26-year-old played a pivotal role in City's title victory, but missed out on a place in France's World Cup squad, prompting his girlfriend to be very sweary towards Didier Deschamps on Twitter.

'Samir Nasri is expected to sign a new five-year deal at Manchester City when the Frenchman finishes his holiday, with the club hopeful that Joe Hart, Edin Dzeko, and Aleksandar Kolarov will follow suit by signing contract extensions after the World Cup,' report the Guardian.

'While City would also like James Milner to agree fresh terms, the midfielder is reluctant to do so as he wants to leave to play more regular first-team football.'

ven if United were to sign CR7 & Messi to play upfront, the fact remains Fletcher and Cleverly are playing in midfield. That's where the problem is. Fletcher is too slow with an awful pass, while Cleverly is simply rubbish
