CHELSEA AFTER MODRIC DEAL
And who can bloody blame them, eh? The Daily Express goes big on its claim that Jose Mourinho is aiming to engineer a swap deal for Luka Modric that would see Ramires moving to Real Madrid. One would assume that some money may also change hands given that it seems a pretty grand deal for Chelsea, and less so for Real.
The paper believe that a Modric deal would be an alternative to Cesc Fabregas, and with Carlo Ancelotti said to be a huge fan of Ramires he could be tempted into a deal.
However, given that the Daily Mirror this morning claim that a Chelsea deal for Fabregas is in the bag for £27million and that Mourinho has rubberstamped the move, who knows what to think? Maybe nobody has a clue.
LOVREN FORCING LIVERPOOL MOVE
Exodus, all right! Oo-oo-ooh! Oo-ooh!
With thanks to Bob Marley and his Wailers, we bring you news that the summer exodus at St Mary's seems to be continuing apace with Dejan Lovren handing in a transfer request in order to try and push through a move to Liverpool.
The Daily Mail are running the story that the Croatian sent an email to the club's hierarchy outlining his intentions for Champions League football next season. The paper also claim that the club are yet to acknowledge receipt of the email. What happened to the footballing staple of the fax machine, eh?
Liverpool are known to be interested in Lovren's services, with the defender only joining Southamtpon last summer for a fee of £7million from Lyon. With Mauricio Pochettino and Rickie Lambert already out the door and Adam Lallana and Luke Shaw thought to be following them, you can almost hear the echoes in the Saints dressing room.
TOURE WILL NOT LEAVE CITY
We will be hugely surprised to learn that the words of Yaya Toure's agent Dmitry Seluk are complete hogwash, and it appears that the player's father has poured cold water on discussions that the Ivorian could leave Manchester City this summer.
Goal.com go big on quotes from Mory Toure (our new favourite name): "No, he won't leave. It's not even my wish that he leaves Manchester City.
"If Yaya wanted Manchester City to pay particular attention to the date of his birthday, it's because he felt that it was the right moment for the club to show him their consideration for all the sacrifices made for City to be at this level.
"It's a situation he didn't appreciate. And as he's a boy who doesn't keep his frustrations to himself, he preferred to express himself. But I think it's a situation which will be resolved."
Still definite hints at Toure's rather p*ssy nature, but thank goodness for that.
AND THE REST...
Chelsea will allow Petr Cech to leave Stamford Bridge in order to offer Thibaut Courtois first-team football... Carlos Vela, 25, wants to stay at Real Sociedad, rather than return to Arsenal... Chilean goalkeeper Claudio Bravo, 31, is set to reject a move to Arsenal in order to join Barcelona... Arsenal have held talks with Gremio over Brazilian centre-back Bressan... West Ham have offered £3m for Nice defender Timothee Kolodziejczak... Wigan will offer £3m for Rapid Vienna striker Terrence Boyd... Tottenham are leading the chase for River Plate striker Sebastian Driussi.
"it was the right moment for the club to show him their consideration for all the sacrifices made for City to be at this level." Are we talking about Yaya or is this a Mandela obituary? Oh the sacrifice of being paid £250k per week to play football i see, a great sacrifice indeed, Gandhi isn't a patch on Yaya.- Barnesy10
