UNITED TURN TO SCHWEINSTEIGER
After supposedly deciding Cesc Fabregas, Toni Kroos and Edinson Cavani weren't for them after all, Manchester United have flitted towards Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger.

The Daily Mail reports Louis Van Gaal has identified the German as the man to bolster his midfield and quote a figure of £15million which, frankly, would be a steal.

The paper also claims United are willing to abandon the exhaustive process of due diligence (Really? Marouane Fellaini?) which David Moyes was forced to endure when he had identified a target.

'It is understood Moyes' attempt to sign Porto's Fernando and Eliaquim Mangala last summer was thwarted when he was asked to provide a detailed cost-justification report on the players when the transfer window was near to closing,' says the Mail.

CESC IN, OSCAR OUT?
Having been fleeced for £50million already by Chelsea this summer, PSG are set to go back with an offer for another of the Blues' Brazilians.

Following the arrival of Cesc Fabregas at Stamford Bridge, the Daily Telegraph are reporting that the Parisians see an opportunity to lure Oscar across the channel with David Luiz.

His display in Brazil's opening World Cup win shows just how mental Jose Mourinho would be if he were to allow Oscar to go.

MAX VALUE
According to the Daily Express, Liverpool are hoping to beat Arsenal and Chelsea to £8million-rated Schalke starlet Max Meyer, with deals for Southampton duo Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren also getting closer.

The 'next Mario Gotze', who was included in Germany's 30-man preliminary World Cup squad, is seen by Brendan Rodgers as ideal competition for Philippe Coutinho and Raheem Sterling.

LUKAKU REJECTS WEST HAM AGAIN
West Ham have seen another offer to sign Romelu Lukaku rejected, with the player reportedly only interested in joining a club that can offer him European football.

According to The Mirror, the Chelsea striker is looking for a way out of Stamford Bridge, but Sam Allardyce has again struck out in his attempt to lure the Belgian to Upton Park having failed with a similar approach last year.

Lukaku, apparently, is only willing to consider a club who can offer him European football, which has made Wolfsburg sit up and take notice.

xcellent! Not sure if he is any good as a manager (never thought about it) but the 'headbutt in the technical area' and what he said to Pelligrini were just brilliant, it was as if he was trying to recreate the end of the Alan Partridge Xmas special when Alan punched a man in a wheelchair and verbally abused Tony Heirs.
