WENGER COURTING CASILLAS
Arsene Wenger is said to have been in contact with Iker Casillas to convince the goalkeeper to rebuild his reputation at Arsenal.

Casillas is second choice at Real Madrid and endured a nightmare World Cup campaign with Spain; Wenger hopes to convince the Real captain to leave the Spanish capital, according to Mundo Deportivo, who also report that London is Casillas's preferred destination if he does make a move this summer.

Confusingly, Arsenal are also being linked with Espanyol stopper Kiko Casilla, who it was reported this week is a target for Real Madrid, along with Kaylor Navas, as Carlo Ancelotti looks to overhaul his goalkeeping ranks.

Staying with Arsenal, according to Sport, the Gunners are competing with Malaga and Olympiakos to sign perennial mover Bojan, who astonishingly is still contracted to Barcelona.

TERMS LAID OUT FOR JAMES
Real Madrid have some bargaining to do if they are to get their hands on James Rodriguez.

Monaco would be willing to do a deal for the Colombia star if Real arrive in the principality with an offer of £55.5million. The Champions League winners, though, are only willing to go as high as £47.5million.

It is hardly a gaping chasm between the two valuations, so you might think that a deal is likely to be agreed, especially given the possibility of Real throwing in a player or two.

OLD LADY EYES EVRA
Despite signing a new one-year contract with Manchester United, Patrice Evra continues to be linked with a move away from Old Trafford.

Juventus are in a strong position to lure the left-back away from Old Trafford, with Tuttosport claiming that the Frenchman is sold on the idea of joining Paul Pogba in Turin.

Evra is aware he will not play regularly after the arrival of Luke Shaw, and Juventus can offer the 33-year-old Champions League football, as well as a two-year contract worth £5.5million.

sn'tthis strange. Last season we were worried that we were stuck with a Dinosaur in Moyes while Liverpool and Everton were disappearing into the distance with their young, spritely managerts, playing football from heaven. Progressive managers, they said. Managers who understand the modern game.........

ood list, some crackers in there. For me, I'd have had Steve McManaman for Liverpool away at Celtic in the UEFA cup in 1997. I was in the ground that night and everyone kept screaming at him to make a pass, but he just kept going and going and going...brilliant, and in the dying minutes too.
