Ji Dong-won: Joins Augsburg on loan

Bundesliga side Augsburg have signed Sunderland forward Ji Dong-won on loan until the end of the season, they have announced on their website.

The 21-year-old became the first South Korean to play for the Black Cats after signing a three-year contract in June 2011.

He made 19 appearances as a substitute as well as two starts in his first season.

Ji scored his first Sunderland goal in the 2-1 defeat by Chelsea last season, as well as the winner against Manchester City on New Year's Day 2012.

Stefan Reuter, managing director of FCA Sports, told Augsburg's official website: "It's good that the transfer worked out before the start of training.

"Ji Dong-won can be used in several positions."

Sunderland confirmed the news on their official Twitter account.
