Anthony Stokes: Contract was due to expire at the end of the season

Anthony Stokes declared himself "100 per cent" confident of signing a new deal after helping Celtic beat Hibernian to lift the Scottish Cup.

The Irishman, out of contract this summer, reminded the Parkhead fans of his continued worth with two assists for Gary Hooper, before Joe Ledley sealed the club's domestic double with a strike after the break.

Asked after the 3-0 win whether he would be returning to the club for the start of the season, the former Hibs striker said: "I expect to be here, 100 per cent.

"The contract is getting sorted out and I am very confident about it. My agent has been speaking with the club for the last week or two so I am sure something will get sorted."

Hoops manager Neil Lennon described Stokes' performance as one of his best in a Celtic shirt.

"I don't know about that," Stokes added. "I was happy with my performance but the most important thing was the result.

"We dominated the game, played well, worked hard and got the result we wanted.

"We finished on a high and we are all delighted. It couldn't have worked out much better."
