Gary Bowyer: Keen to bring United starlets to Blackburn

Blackburn boss Gary Bowyer is keen to nurture links with David Moyes in the hope of bringing some of Manchester United's starlets to Ewood Park on loan.

Rovers' managing director Derek Shaw knew Moyes when the pair were at Preston North End together more than 10 years ago and Bowyer wants to take advantage of their working relationship.

Moyes recently replaced Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford and the 41-year-old Bowyer told the Lancashire Telegraph: "Obviously Manchester United are only down the road and they have some talented players, ones I've seen growing up so I'm aware of them.

"If we can establish a link with them in terms of bringing players to give them experience in the Championship, it's a fantastic contact.

"Derek obviously had David at Preston and when we were in the run-in during last season I just asked if it would be possible to speak to him.

"Derek asked him and he said 'yes, no problem'. David was brilliant.

"He gave me half an hour of his time, he went through a list of things of, 'Are you doing this, are you doing that, this is what you might need to do'.

"The advice was invaluable to us in terms of what we did and how we went about it towards the end of the season."

e have the personnel. The trick is keeping them fit. Carrick and Blind have missed large chunks of the season, while the defence has been one muddled mess of intermittent stooges, all coming and going at various intervals thus far. We may be just short of title winning quality, but we're half way through. An injury crisis to either of the top two could change things. Optimistic, yes, but not unrealistic.

arish is the man to blame for this shambles. Pulis must be chuckling into his left over turkey sandwich. I pray this doesn't mean the Neil Warnock media machine will kick in now and he'll be back on the telly box.

e almost found a new way to lose, just when I thought it was getting boring Giroud does that. Although Arsenal are deservedly called 'soft' the entire midfield is out injured. Still must admit MU are managing to win despite a similar raft of absentees. Think the Gunners have good players but poorly coached.
